India National Parks Safari

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to your hotel

  1. Arrival at Delhi International Airport and transfer to your hotel in New Delhi.

  2. Depending on your arrival flight, time permitting, city tour

  3. Dinner;

  4. Spend the night in a your hotel to rest up for your India National Parks Safari.

 

Day 2: New Delhi

  1. Breakfast;

  2. Jama Masjid the principle mosque of Old Delhi and largest mosque of India, commissioned to the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan;

  3. Rajghat - the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi;

  4. drive past India gate and Government buildings;

  5. visit Humayun's tomb, the tomb of the Mughal Emperor Humayun. The tomb was commissioned by Humayun's first wife Bega Begum in 1569-70, and designed by Mirak Mirza Ghiyas, a Persian architect chosen by Bega Begum;

  6. Lunch;

  7. Take the train to Swai Madhopur;

  8. transfer to hotel closer to Ranthambore National Park;

  9. Dinner;

  10. Spend the night in a lodge in the park.

 

Day 3: Ranthambore National Park

  1. Breakfast;

  2. Game viewing in Indian open game trekking FWD. Ranthambore National Park is one of India's largest and most famous parks in Northern India. Ranthambore National Park was declared one of the Project Tiger reserves in 1973 and it became a national park in 1980. It is the site of one of the largest Banyan trees in India. Besides Tigers, Wildlife includes Leopard, Nilgai, Wild Boar, Sambar, Hyena, Sloth Bear and Chital. The park is also home to a wide variety of trees, plants, birds and reptiles;

  3. Lunch at the hotel;

  4. Game viewing in Indian open game trekking FWD;

  5. Dinner in the hotel;

  6. Spend the night in the hotel.

 

Day 4: Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary aka Keoladeo Ghana National Park

  1. Breakfast;

  2. Game viewing in Indian open game trekking FWD in Ranthambore National Park;

  3. Lunch in the hotel;

  4. Travel to Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary. Over 230 species of birds are known to have made Keoladeo Ghana National Park their home. Both nesting as well as migratory aquatic and shore birds live in the sanctuary as do Sambar, Chital, Nilgai and Wild Boar.Visit the park in a quiet bicycle rickshaw;

  5. Dinner;

  6. Spend the night in the hotel.

 

Day 5:  Fatehpur Sikri

  1. Breakfast

  2. Visit the park in a quiet bicycle rickshaw.

  3. Lunch;

  4. Travel to Agra, and en route visit Fatehpur Sikri, the deserted royal city constructed by the Mughal Emperor Akbar. This impressive and well-preserved citadel served as the political capital of India's Mughal Empire under Akbar's reign, from the year 1571 until 1585. It was built between 1569 and 1585 and was intended to be the joint capital with Agra, but was soon deserted because the water system could not support any residents. It remained untouched for over 400 years now and its palaces are a remainder of the extravagance of the Mughals Fatehpur Sikri is the best example of the culmination of Hindu and Muslim architecture. Fatehpur Sikri Mosque is said to be a copy of the mosque in Mecca and has designs, derived from the Persian & Hindu architecture. However, in 1585 Akbar left Fatehpur Sikri abandoned due to lack of water;

  5. Continue to Agra;

  6. Dinner at the hotel in Agra;

  7. Spend the night in the hotel.

 

Day 6: Taj Mahal

  1. Breakfast;

  2. Visit the beautiful white marble Taj Mahal at sunrise;

  3. Visit Agra Fort, whose mighty red sandstone walls enclose the beautiful white marble Pearl Mosque;

  4. lunch;

  5. Take the night train to Katni;

  6. Spend the night in sleeper train to Katni.

 

Day 7: Bhandavgarh National Park

  1. Breakfast in Katni;

  2. Drive to Bhandavgarh National Park. This is one of the best known national parks in India, located in the Vindhya Hills of Madhya Pradesh. The area is famous for having the highest density of tigers in India as well as for its extraordinary biodiversity. The park also is home to the largest population of leopards as well as various species of deer;

  3. Check in the park lodge and lunch;

  4. Tiger trekking in the park;

  5. Dinner;

  6. Spend the night in the lodge in the park.

 

Day 8: Bhandavgarh National Park 2

  1. Breakfast

  2. Tiger trekking in the park;

  3. Lunch;

  4. Tiger trekking in the park;

  5. Spend the night in the lodge in the park.

 

Day 9: Bhandavgarh National Park 3

  1. Breakfast;

  2. Tiger trekking in the park;

Day 11: New Delhi
